New Season, New Money: Can-Am Speedway Raises the Bar for 2026
The 52nd season of racing is on the horizon at the Can Am Speedway in Lafargeville New York and the anticipation is building for the new year already, following a major announcement that was made at the awards banquet for the 2025 racing season.
Following the awards ceremony at the Harbor Hotel in Clayton New York on Saturday February 28th, promoter Tyler Bartlett gave some closing remarks about the upcoming season and what drivers, teams and fans could expect to see. The major news was an increase in payout for the Whitesboro Plow Shop DIRTCar 358 Modifieds, Bob Johnson Auto Group DIRTCar Sportsman and the Panther Frameworx Crate Sprint Cars.
Bartlett announced that the 358 Modifieds will now be $2,000 to win during weekly competition, while the Sportsman will pay $1,000 to the feature winner. In the Crate Sprint Cars, the feature winner will receive $750 weekly and Limited Sportsman, $200.
Talks with sponsors are in the works to raise the purse for the Sundance Leisure Thundercars and promoters Tyler and Michelle Bartlett hope to have an announcement about that in the next few weeks.
Increase in weekly payouts and big weekend to start the year is just some of what is expected for the 2026 season. All that and more about our season schedule can be found on our website at racecanam.com, our track Facebook page and on My Race Pass.
