Rain Waves the Checkered Flag on Can-Am’s 51st Season
After avoiding a possible rain out Friday night at the Can Am Speedway and getting in a successful R.D. Hutchinson Memorial event for the Super DIRTcar Series, day number two belonged to the weather.
Steady and persistent showers on Saturday have officially canceled night two for the Showdown in September weekend at the Can Am Speedway, officially concluding the 51st season of racing.
Promoter Tyler Bartlett added that with all the rain we had overnight and throughout the morning, along with more rain expected through the day, that crews would not be able to get the track worked in for the event.
The second day of racing was to feature the 7th running of the John Burr Memorial for the Bob Johnson Auto Group DIRTcar Sportsman, the Ron White Memorial for the Sundance Leisure Thundercars and the third appearance of the season for the Empire Super Sprints.
With the 2025 racing season now officially in the record books, staff and management will be hard at work preparing season number 52 for the speedway in 2026. They thank everyone for their support and commitment to being at the track every week and they hope you enjoyed the racing action, which made the 51st year a great one.
Congratulations goes out to all of our track champions and feature winners this season in all five divisions.
