LAFARGEVILLE NY - After such a great start to the 2025 racing season at the Can Am Speedway in Lafargeville New York, Mother Nature decided to jump in and literally rain on our fun that was planned for last Friday night. Persistent rain throughout the week and continuing through the day on Friday prompted staff and Management to call off the evening of events. But it’s back to business as usual this week.

Rebirth of Can-Am Pabst Shootout Sees Multiple Winners

The annual Pabst Shootout at the Can-Am Speedway will be set to hit the track for a special Wednesday night battle. An event that has history, but is creating more history along the way.

In 2018, the Bartlett Family brought the crown jewel evet back to the speedway and Bobby Herrington took his family-owned team, to one of the biggest wins of his career, passing Tim Fuller on the final lap.

2019 saw Billy Dunn finally do something at Can-Am that he had never done in his future hall of famer career and that’s claim a Pabst Shootout checkered flag.

Former DIRTCar Sportsman Series champion Dave Marcuccilli, had won plenty of major Sportsman events at the speedway, but never won in a Modified. The Cayuga native checked that box, by winning the biggest event at the speedway in 2021.

Erick Rudolph has owned this event in two of the last three seasons, as he notched the win in 2020 and then returned to victory lane a year ago. Should Rudolph make an appearance this year, the Ransomville native will be in search of his third triumph in the event.

To summarize, in the last 5 events, a total of 4 different drivers, have graced victory lane and with a competitive field doing battle every Friday night, a chance for a first time Pabst shootout champion is very much a possibility.

Joining the Pabst Shootout for the Whitesboro Plow Shop DIRTCar 358 Modifieds, will be the Empire Super Sprints and the stars of the DIRTcar Sportsman North Regional Series, will challenge our locals in the Bob Johnson Auto Group DIRTcar Sportsman division, on Wednesday June 30th.

Gates open at 5pm with the first green flag of the night, scheduled for 7am. Miss Adirondack and Miss Thousand Islands will be on hand as well, for opening ceremonies and National Anthems.
